Alexa Vega
Alexa Ellesse Vega was born on August 27, 1988 in Miami, Florida. She is of Italian and Colombian decent. She has five siblings, two sisters, who are also actresses, two half-sisters and one half-brother. She was raised in Florida until she was four years old and then moved with her family to California. In her younger years she guest starred in many TV shows and several films as well. She received most of her exposure as a young actress in The Bernie Mac Show. She is most well known, however, for her part as the vivacious Carmen Cortez in the major motion picture series, Spy Kids. She co-starred in the hugely popular movie with Antonio Banderas, Carla Gugino, Daryl Sabara and Alan Cumming. The first film in the series was released in 2001 and was met with high praise from fans and critics alike. The second Spy Kids: The Island of Lost Dreams was released in 2002 and the last, Spy Kids, 3-D Games Over, in 2003. She has remained close friends with the director of the Spy Kids series, Robert Rodriguez and he reportedly purchased her first car for her when she turned sixteen. Additionally, she did all her own stunts for the film and recorded music tracks for the last film as well. She also had roles in several other movies including: Little Giants, Glimmer Man, The Deep End of the Ocean, Sleep Over and Odd Girl Out. She has many upcoming projects in major motion pictures. Alexa now lives in Los Angeles with her mother, stepfather and her siblings. Her sister Makenzie Vega had a role in the 2004 blockbuster Saw. She is multi-lingual and speaks Spanish fluently. Tidbits
