Kristin Kreuk
Kristin Laura Kreuk was born on December 30, 1982 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Her father is Dutch and her mother Chinese. Both of her parents are landscape architects. She has a sister named Justine. She excelled at gymnastics in high school but stopped in the eleventh grade do to a condition called scoliosis. She had intended to enter college at Simon Fraser University to study psychology or forensic science but was sidetracked. A casting agent for the Canadian soap series Edgemont called her school looking for an exotic looking young woman to take a part on the show. Her drama teacher convinced her to audition for the part and she won it. After her first year on the show Edgemont, in 2002, she hired an agent and landed the lead role in a TV, live action adaptation of Snow White. After this success she auditioned for the role of Lana Lang on the United States WB network show Smallville. The show was to be filmed in Vancouver. She won the role and ended her role on Edgemont in 2003. During this time she also had a role in the miniseries Legend of Earthsea on the SciFi channel which aired in 2004. She has also taken several modeling deals including one as the spokesperson and model for the skin care company Neutrogena. It has been rumored that in 2005 she was asked to the lead female role of Agent 99 in a Warner Bros. feature film called Get Smart based on the TV series of the same name. Tidbits
