Alyson Hannigan
Alyson Lee Hannigan was born on March 24, 1974 in Washington, DC. Her father is an Irish American and her mother Jewish American. Her parents divorced when she was a year old upon which her mother took her to Atlanta to live. She began to act professionally after moving to Los Angles, California in 1985. She went to North Hollywood High School and auditioned for agents when she would visit her father in Santa Barbara. Her first major motion picture role was in My Stepmother Is an Alien, 1988. One of her co-stars in that film was actor Seth Green, who would ironically join her later in the cast of Buffy as her on-screen boyfriend. Nine years later, in 1997, Hannigan was cast to play Willow Rosenberg, Buffy's best friend, on the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The show was a major TV success for the WB network. Alyson began to be noticed in the critical and fan world. This led to several other acting roles for the young actress; the most popular to date being American Pie. She also had roles in Boys and Girls, and American Wedding. By the time the series Buffy ended in 2003, she was earning in excess of $250,000 for each episode she filmed. Hannigan decided to give the theater a try, so she made her stage debut in 2004. She had a lead role in When Harry Met Sally starring opposite former 90210 star Luke Perry. She went back to TV and appeared in How I Met Your Mother in 2005. In February 2006, Date Movie, was released in theaters, she had a starring role in this film.
