Biography

Denise Lee Richards was born on February 17, 1972 in Downers Grove, Illinois. Her father is Welsh and her mother Croation. She was raised Catholic. She moved to California when she was fourteen years old. She graduated from El Camino High School in Oceanside, California.

In the 1990s she appeared in several low-budget films and television movies. She also guest stared in a few TV series programs. Her first major motion picture role came with the film Starship Troopers in 1997. She followed this with her role in the cult classic movie Wild Things, which was released in 1998. The popularity of this film led to her role as a bond girl as Dr. Christmas Jones in The World is Not Enough in 1999. This film did very well at the box-office and put Richards on the map.

During this time she also made recurring guest appearances on Friends, Seinfeld and Spin City. She had several other film roles in 2000 including Valentine, Undercover Brother and Scary Movie 3. In December of 2004, she posed in a nude pictorial for Playboy magazine.

In her personal life she is most known for her marriage to Charlie Sheen. The two met on the set of Scary Movie 3, she played his dying wife in the film. They started dating in 2001 and the two married in 2002. They currently have two children together, Sam born in 2004 and Lola born in 2005. Their divorce has been the frequent subject of tabloid headlines, with varying stories from both camps. They split in 2005, reconciled later that year and then subsequently, re-instated divorce proceedings in 2006 after Richards filed a restraining order against Sheen.
