Cheryl Cole
Cheryl Ann Tweedy was born on June 30, 1983 in Newcastle, UK. She was involved in entertainment at an early age and all through her childhood she performed in multiple fashion shows, she also modeled frequently as a young girl. Later, she entered ballroom competitions, sang, acted and won a ballet competition. Some of the competitions she won as a child include: Boots Bonniest Baby, Mothercare Happy Faces Portrait competition, Best Looking Girl of Newcastle, The Evening Chronicle 'Little Miss & Mister' and Most Attractive Girl at the MetroCentre. She also did some acting and appeared in two British Gas advertisements, an SCS advertisement, and an Eldon Square Christmas commercial with her younger brother Garry. In addition to her one brother Garry, Cheryl has three sisters. In 2002 Cheryl was working as a waitress when she decided to enter the Popstars competition. Popstars is a popular British reality TV show that is similar to the American Idol show in the US. She went on to win a spot in the girl band Girls Aloud. The band became very popular in Great Britain and worldwide and had many top ten hits including: Sound of the Underground, No Good Advice, Jump, The Show, I'll Stand By You and Biology. On July 15, 2006 Cheryl married Ashley Cole a popular footballer in Britain and changed her name from Tweedy to Cole. The wedding was paid for by O.K. magazine who they had signed a contract with giving them exclusive rights to publish photographs of the wedding. She is sometimes referred to in the British press as "Chezza". She has gained celebrity status through her role in Girls Aloud, her marriage to Ashley Cole and her good looks. She came in second in the FHM 100 Sexiest Women poll in 2005, winning over Britney Spears, Sarah Harding and Nadine Coyle. Tidbits
