Biography

Alicia Roanne Witt was born on August 21st, 1975 in Worchester, Massachusetts. When she was four she was written up in the Guinness Book of World Records for her amazing reading abilities at a very young age. She was home schooled by her parents for many years and officially graduated high school when she was fourteen years old. She learned to play piano when she was a young girl. She later went on to study classical piano at Boston University.

After getting her high school diploma she and her mother moved to California and shortly after she appeared on That's Incredible. She was spotted by director David Lynch while he watched the show and offered her a part in his film version of Dune in 1984. She later went on to star as Gersten Hayward in Twin Peaks; a role that was written specifically for her by David Lynch. From Twin Peaks she took a role in the sitcom Cybill, where she played Cybill Shepard's intellectual, difficult and sardonic daughter Zoey. This role gave her wider exposure and landed her several more film roles including: Urban Legend, Playing Mona Lisa, Vanilla Sky and Two Weeks Notice. Alicia later left the Hollywood scene and moved to the United Kingdom. She returned to the big screen with The Upside of Anger in 2005 and also had roles in Last Holiday, 88 Minutes, and Dark Kingdom: The Dragon King.
