By the time Venus was ten years old she was winning tournaments, and her father knew he was on the right track. He moved the family to Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, in 1991 so that she and her sister could train with Rick Macci. Venus's hard work and dedication to her sport paid off; she went professional on October 31, 1994, by 1997 she was playing regularly and entered the US Open for the first time that year. By 1999 she had taken her game to high levels of expertise and subsequently won the French Open that year with her sister Serena as her doubles partner. The pair went on to win the US Open that year as well, and have won over ten events together as a team including an Olympic Gold in the 2000 Games. Venus has had an amazing tennis career as a single player as well; she won five Grand Slam Finals from 2000 to 2005 alone and also won an Olympic Gold in Australia as a singles player in 2000.
