Biography

Kate Beckinsale Loe was born on July 26, 1973 in London, United Kingdom. She is a British actress. Her father, who died when she was only five, was a popular UK television actor. Her mother was also an actress. Showing an early interest in writing she won several contents locally for her essays. After graduating high school she began acting and took a large TV role in 1991 which made her known by fans in the UK. Shortly after this acting stint she began college at the prestigious New College at Oxford University. She studied French and Russian Literature while there.

While still in her freshman year in college she was given a part in Much Ado About Nothing which was a film adaptation of the Shakespearian play. This role led to several others and she continued to act while attending college. She transferred to Paris to complete her studies but left to focus on acting. She has since appeared in over sixteen major motion pictures including, Van Helsing, Serendipity, Pearl Harbor, The Aviator, and Brokedown Palace.

In 1999 she had a daughter with her ex-boyfriend Michael Sheen who was her co-star in Underworld. She subsequently ended up marrying her Underworld director, Len Wiseman in 2004. She continues to act and appear in print and TV.
