Nicole Scherzinger
Nicole Elikolani Prescovia Scherzinger was born on June 29th 1978. Nicole was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her father is Filipiono and her mother is Hawaiian and Russian. She was raised in Louisville, Kentucky after her mother divorced her biological father and remarried Gary Scherzinger. She is close to her stepfather and considers him her father. As a teenager, she was the first runner-up at the 1996 Kentucky State Fair's Coca-Cola Talent Classic contest, and she appeared in several plays at Louisville's Actors Theater. She attended the Youth Performing Arts School and performed with the Actors Theater of Louisville. She majored in theater arts at Wright State University. She left school for a short time to sing back up vocals for Days of the New. On June 6th 2003 Scherzinger joined the group The Pussycat Dolls. The group started as a burlesque troupe and later became a girl singing group. They have gained in popularity in the last several years and have several top five Billboard hits including, Don't Cha, Buttons, Beep, and Stickwitu. Their CD PCD went platinum in 2006. In 2006, she is touring with The Pussycat Dolls for their album promotion. She is the only member of the Pussycat Dolls who has written one of their tracks. Nicole has also dabbled in acting and has appeared on several TV shows including My Wife and Kids, Half & Half, Wanda At Large and appeared in the movies Love Don't Cost a Thing and Be Cool. On the personal front she is very private about her life, but received a lot of attention when she started dating, and then became engaged to, Nick Hexum, the lead singer of 311. Tidbits
