Catherine Bell
Catherine Lisa Bell was born August 14, 1968 in London, UK. Bell's father is English architect of Scottish heritage and her mother is Persian and a nurse. Her parents divorced when she was three years old and she and her mother moved to Los Angeles, California. She became a naturalized citizen of the United States at age twelve. She acted in various television ads as a child. She attended the University of California, in Los Angeles. She intended on becoming a biomedical engineer or medical doctor. She dropped out before completing her studies to become a fashion model. One of her first assignments as a model was an extended shoot in Japan. She broke into acting in 1992 as a body double for Isabella Rossellini in Death Becomes Her. In 2003, Bell played a supporting role in the comedy Bruce Almighty, with Jim Carrey as the movie's star. Her most famous role was as Marine Lt. Colonel, Sarah McKenzie on the popular TV series JAG. She began acting on the show in 1995 and left the show on April 29, 2005. She has often described herself as a math geek and loved math, computers and biology in school. She is very athletic and participates in snowboarding, skiing, and extreme motorcycle riding. She has also been an avid Scientologist and has been associated with that religious organization since 1990.
