Biography

Jennifer Love Hewitt was born in Waco, Texas on February 22, 1979. Her name is not a stage name as many believe. Her brother named her Jennifer for a girl he had a crush on and her mother gave her the middle name Love after a college friend. She showed an interest in entertaining as a young girl and would often sing for family members at the early age of three. She appeared and sang at several local events and at age ten it was suggested to her mother that she move to LA by talent scouts. Her mother, who's marriage to Jennifer's father had ended agreed to the move and took her talented daughter and older son Todd to California.

She has said that she felt much happier in LA as compared to Texas because she wasn't seen as a freak for wanting to be a singer and actress. She also made many new friends in her new home town who were also pursuing entertainment careers. Soon after her arrival she starred in many TV commercials and went on to land a role in the Disney series, Kids Incorporated. Her big break came when she took the role of Sara in the very popular Fox series Party of Five in 1999. The sweet faced actress quickly became known as "The Girl Next Door" as she got older she was thought of as the "Sexy girl next door" and began to land motion picture roles.

Her blockbuster role in I know What You Did Last Summer, helped solidify her ability to go from the small screen to the big one without much effort. The movie made an amazing 125,000,000 million dollars. She also starred in Can't Hardly Wait and Heartbreakers. She also starred in Jackie Chan's The Tuxedo. Later she returned to the small screen in a made for TV movie The Audrey Hepburn Story. In September of 2005 she began starring in Australia's hit series Ghost Whisperer. Many American fans feel they have watched Jennifer grow up from the cute young Sara to the sexy Ms. Hewitt.
