Biography

Jennifer Lynn Lopez was born on July 24th 1969. Born on the cusp of Cancer and Leo she fits the traits of a Lion and roars when pushed to far, on the other side of the water, she typically hides like a only a Cancer can when injured. Born in Bronx, NYC to Puerto Rican parents she is very proud of her Latino heritage. She was raised Roman Catholic and with a strict work ethic.

J-Lo's career has been a slow and steady climb to the top. Her career started as a dancer, and she worked in night-clubs while she took dancing classes in order to pay her bills, although she did not drink. Her first TV role was on In Living Color, which she participated in before moving on to other TV parts and dancing gigs. She broke into the big screen in 1995 when she had a part in My Family. She also had parts in Jack, starring Robin Williams, Money Train and Blood and Wine. In 1998 she received a Golden Globe nomination for her portrayal of Selina.

In 1999 her CD On The 6, reached the top ten on Billboard charts. She released several subsequent CD's including, J.Lo, This Is Me. . .Then, and Rebirth. She has had varying successes with her music career, at least compared to that of her acting and designing careers. This Hispanic Renaissance woman has launched several perfume lines, a clothing line and a production company. All of which have been successful, not to mention her acting career which has included films like, The Wedding Planner, Enough, The Cell, Maid in Manhattan, Monster-In-Law and An Unfinished Life.

Whatever that secret formula to success is, Jennifer Lopez has it. It may be less of a secret and more her traits of hard-work, smarts, determination, style and focus, because Ms. Lopez seems to possess these qualities in abundance. Or, it could be that killer Leo/Cancer double punch. Unfortunately, like many Hollywood stars, J-Lo isn't immune to woes of the heart. She has been married three times and engaged to Sean Combs and Ben Affleck. In 2004, in her third marriage, she exchanged vows with singer Marc Anthony in a secret ceremony.
